WHO WE ARE
Jerusalem’s NISHMAT is world Jewry’s resource for educating a new generation of confident, creative Jewish leaders, scholars and professionals. Students develop a life-long passion for Torah study, integrating their university education with religious faith and practice. Nishmat’s 120 Yoatzot Halacha, women certified as Advisors in Jewish Law, enrich quality of life and observance for Jewish women, families and communities.
At Nishmat, the Alisa Flatow Program welcomes students from across the globe, beginners to advanced, sharing a deep commitment to Torah, Zionist ideals and the Jewish people. Young Americans on gap-year benefit from diversity of faculty and students in an environment that encourages questions. Nishmat’s college-prep and in-college support for Ethiopian-Israelis has a 98% success rate. Its 300+ graduates are teachers, attorneys, nurses, social workers and more.
